Cooking class

Our cooking breaks are relaxed, fun, and hands on, and are a perfect way of enjoying a stay in the countryside near Rome preparing simple and genuine dishes that look and taste good.
Various options are available:

  • Single Lesson
    One hands on cooking lesson,  preparing a delicious four courses Italian meal, including making pasta from scratch, the way  mamma used to do and other specialties  using local seasonal products. Lessons last about 2,5 hours followed by dinner served with a selection of good wines.
    Costs depend on what is included. Reservations are necessary and minimum number required
    Star chefs have visited la Torretta and featured pasta making on various TV series
  • Cooking break
    Customized  for a 3 /4 day stay,  including one or more hands on cooking lessons, an olive oil tasting, a vist to a local winery, and to a local cheese producer.
  • Costs depend on what is included. Reservations are necessary and minimum number required, we cooperate with Gusto al Borgo cooking venue.

Sabina Olive oil is known throughout the world for its quality, intense scent and wonderful flavour . Roman aristocrats had villas and farms in the Sabina, and present day Romans come to get away from the city and to buy the local olive oil. Olive farms have nearly always been the main activity in the area, and the liquid gold as it is called was the first oil to win the DOP certification..

We cooperate with several producers and arrange with farmers olive oil tasting and experiences the olive hill. Harvesting season is generally from mid october till december

Cheese and wine tastings can be enjoyed at the Ecofattorie , local cheese producers, shop and restaurant they will introduce you to some of the most delicious cheeses with  a combination Lazio wines  definately worth trying!!!

Food in the  Sabina area is  generally simple and delicious made respecting local traditions using organic local products,   such as wild asparagus, broccoli, beans, truffles , mushrooms, pecorino cheese, home made pasta, gnocchi, tomatoes fresh herbs with a okm filosofy—
