For my wife's 40th birthday we went to a tiny hilltop village in Italy called Casperia and stayed at a beautiful little B&B called La Torretta. The scenery was extraordinary and it was just a great, fun few days. It showed me the authentic Italian lifestyle.
Since Italy joined the 6 Nations I stay at La Torretta Casperia with a group of friends and supporters and Maureen and her family organize a brilliant weekend for us every time.
I have stayed at La Torretta in Casperia many times as a location for my European Landscape Painting workshops, the house is stunnng, the village offers so many opportunities for landscape painting, every corner has an amazing view, the food is great, my students love every minute, and the location is just 90 minutes from Rome international airport.
This was our second visit to La Torretta - we were here in September 2014 for our wedding, and it was so wonderful that we were soon booked up for a return trip for our first anniversary. Owners Maureen, Roberto and their daughter Jennifer are so welcoming and accommodating it really is like being a guest in their home rather than in a hotel.
